Pastors Alfonse and Jennifer Webb were born, raised and married in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. In 1981, Jennifer gave her life to the Lord and her testimony is “I was immediately changed.” Her first ministry began in her home. Her chaste life was an example that drew her household to the Lord.
Alfonse and Jennifer joined Lively Stone Church in Poplar Bluff, Missouri, under the stewardship of Bishop James Price. Pastor Webb began his ministry teaching children’s church and faithfully assisted Bishop Price. Evangelist Webb served in the choir and the prayer ministry. During their time under Bishop Price, they both acknowledged their call to the ministry.
In 1982, Pastor Alfonse and Jennifer Webb received their fellowship papers through the Pentecostal Assemblies of the World (PAW) organization. In 1983, Pastor Alfonse Webb was promoted to Assistant Pastor and Jennifer as a Missionary. The following year in 1984, they were licensed through the PAW as Elder and Evangelist.
In 1991, while working for the U.S. Forest Service, Pastor Alfonse Webb was relocated to Jefferson City. While here, they visited several ministries but knew that God was calling them to pastor. They stretched out on faith and accepted their call to pastor. They were ordained as pastors that same year.
Pastor and Evangelist Webb established the House of Refuge in the basement of their home. Their humble beginnings started with only seven member, five of which were family members. God gave Pastor a vision that the church would be a "light to the city." As the church continued to grow, God blessed and added to the Body. The vision God gave Pastor Webb in 1991 is still going strong!
Pastor and Evangelist Webb are the proud parents of four children and enjoy their beautiful grandchildren.
